After Yahoo's Mail outage, Flickr crashed too
The photo-hosting site crashed for some users this morning, adding to Yahoo's service woes.
Some users reported that photo-hosting site Flickr was down this morning, though the site has just gotten back up and running. It was always working for me, but according to Down For Everyone Or Just Me?, the site indeed was having troubles. Reports have indicated that the outage appears to have started around 8 a.m. PT.
In a statement to CNET, Yahoo apologized for the outage. "We are aware that Flickr is currently unavailable and we are working quickly to fix the issue. We apologize to affected users," a spokesperson said.
The outage just piles onto troubles Yahoo has had keeping its premier properties up this week. The company's e-mail service experienced a prolonged outage due to a "hardware problem" at a data center. While the company says most users can get into their inboxes, Yahoo noted earlier this morning that "some users may still have trouble accessing their accounts."The company also said on its help blog that, for some users, messages sent from November 25 to December 9 -- about two weeks' worth of e-mails -- have not been showing up in inboxes, and that the company is still trying to fix that problem.
Update, 12:07 p.m. PT: Adds more details from Yahoo's help blog.
