Software publisher Adobe Systems plans to lay off an unspecified number of workers by the end of next month, resulting in a charge of $10 million to $14 million against earnings for the current fourth quarter, which ends Nov. 30. Adobe revealed the plans in a statement filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Adobe representatives could not be reached for comment on the size or timing of the layoffs. Based on previous restructurings, though, the plan could eliminate a few hundred jobs. Adobe took a $12.1 million charge a year ago to cover the elimination of 247 jobs.
