3Com raises start-up investment
Networking equipment maker 3Com announced Wednesday that it increased its investment in Atrica, a start-up focused on making optical Ethernet gear for metropolitan telecom networks, which handle data within urban areas. 3Com started the venture in February 2000 with the investment of seed money and granted Atrica the use of a company patent. 3Com also launched Intransa over the past year, a start-up that is working on technology for computer data storage.
