24/7 Real Media settles patent suit

24/7 Real Media, which provides the technology to deliver online advertisements, on Thursday settled a patent lawsuit against rival Advertising.com, charging it had overstepped its bounds in delivering interactive ads. Financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed. But going forward, Baltimore, Ma.-based Advertising.com will license 24/7 Real Media's patent on the method for providing interactive advertising to a targeted set of viewers. The suit was settled in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. New York-based 24/7 settled a similar patent claim against DoubleClick in November 2000.
