Want to treat yourself to a bargain and can't wait until Boxing Day? Then you're in luck, as this year's sales start before the turkey is even served, with discounts like £200 off a MacBook available on Christmas Eve.

Retailers including Currys, PC World and Amazon are starting their sales early. Currys and PC World open their doors to discounts at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, while Amazon starts its sale at 4 p.m. on Christmas Day -- after the Queen, very patriotic.

An 8GB, 13-inch Apple Macbook Air will cost £849, down from £1,049, in the Currys and PC World sales. A 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet will cost just £80, a saving of £60. Dyson vacuum cleaners will have up to £140 slashed from the price. And other laptops, Blu-ray players, and kitchen appliances from coffee makers to walk-in fridge freezers will see savings of up to 50 per cent.

Currys and PC World is also trumpeting its lowest price ever for a 4K TV, as the 55-inch Ultra High Definition LG 55UB820V is slashed by £700 from £1,499 to £799.

Dixons Carphone, the company that owns Carphone Warehouse, Currys and PC World, has crunched the numbers and expects a bumper Christmas. It forecasts 2.3 million people will shop online on Boxing Day, and that's not counting the million people expected to turn up to Currys and PC World stores. Stores open at 8 a.m. on Boxing Day to spend your Christmas money or collect items ordered online.

Of those shopping online, it's anticipated as many as 70 per cent will do so on a phone or tablet. Dixons Carphone predicts the online peak rush will be at about 11.48am as revelers shake off their Christmas hangovers and think about gadgets for a bit in between their third and fourth turkey sandwiches.
