If you are constantly up against your monthly data limit, the DataMan iPhone app can help you keep closer tabs on your data usage. And its new Stopwatch widget lets you track your data usage over a specific time period. So, if you are wondering how much data you might use to stream an hour's worth of songs on Spotify or watch a couple hours of YouTube, the DataMan Stopwatch will let you do just that.

After installing the DataMan app, swipe down from the top of your iPhone screen to open Notification Center. Scroll down on the Today tab and tap the Edit button. Find DataMan Stopwatch (there is also a DataMan widget that keeps count of your monthly usage) listed and tap its green "+" button to add its widget to Notification Center. Tap Done.

With the widget added, open Notification Center and tap the green button on the DataMan Stopwatch widget to start tracking data usage. Tap the red button to stop tracking. The widget tracks the data usage of all of your open apps, showing you the data you are using via cellular connection and Wi-Fi.

The DataMan app costs $1.99 | £1.49 | AU$2.49 and includes the Stopwatch widget, though it will eventually cease being a free add-on and will require an in-app purchase to use.

In other widget news, you can play iTunes music with the iPhone Notification Center widget.
