Ever tried teaching your child how to draw an animal, but just didn't know where to start? Next time, try starting with a butt. That's right.

Everything Butt Art, a freemium iPad app, wants to teach your child how to draw, a learning process that relies on repetition and familiarity. One where every drawing starts with a butt. It may sound kind of strange, or perhaps even offensive at first, but once you begin using the app and go through the steps of each drawing, your apprehension quickly turns into admiration.

Let's take a look at how the app works.

  1. When you first run the app you will be asked to sign up for an account and to set profiles for anyone who may be using the app. You can use your Facebook account to sign up, making the process relatively painless.

  3. After setting up an account and profiles, you can then begin drawing. Tap on any available animal to begin drawing.

You may notice there are only three animals available to draw. These three are included with the free version of the app. If you want to unlock the rest of the animals, you will need to buy one of two available upgrade packages.

  5. After selecting an animal, you will be given the choice to either watch a brief tutorial on the steps to draw the specific animal, or you can jump right into drawing.

  7. Step one always starts with a butt.

Along the bottom of the paper are thumbnails for each step required to draw the animal. Trace the lines provided, then tap on the next step to proceed.

  9. After following each step, and completing the drawing, you can then color it in or add stamps to make it a complete picture.

With each animal you can draw, a Butt Hunt game is included, allowing your child to search for the common shape hidden in throughout a picture.
