How to share Google Reader items to Google+

The new version of Google Reader now allows easy sharing of items to Google+. We'll show you how.

Google Reader and Google+

Google has rolled out the new version of Google Reader with not only a new interface--consistent with the Google Calendar and Gmail redesigns--but also with Google+ integration. Here's how to share items to Google+ with the new version of Google Reader:

Step 1: When you find an item you want to share, click on the +1 button, located under the item.

Step 2: In the small box, click on the area that says, "Share on Google+."

Step 3: When the Google+ share box appears, enter a note and choose the circles you want to share the item with. Click "Share" to send the item to Google+.

Step 4: Go to your Google+ account to see the Google Reader item you just shared in your timeline.

Tip: To bypass having to publicly +1 a Google Reader item and to quickly share an item to Google+, click on the "Share" link at the top of Google Reader. Thank you to Seth Rosenblatt for this tip.

That's it. Now you can easily share Google Reader items to Google+. We expect the upcoming update to the Google Reader Android app to include Google+ sharing as well.
