How to schedule texts on the Galaxy S5

Learn how to send a text message at the exact time you want to with the Galaxy S5's message scheduling feature.

Our brains have a funny way of remembering that we need to do something at the strangest moments. For instance: It's 2 p.m. and you just remembered that you want your significant other to stop at the store on the way home from work. You can't call, so you'd text, but the timing isn't right. Will he/she remember what you wanted if you text it now? Will you remember to text later in the day? If you have a Samsung Galaxy S5, Tech-Recipes recommends using the message scheduling feature. Here's how:

Step 1: Open the Messages app on your phone. Pick a recipient and type your message.

Step 2: Tap the three dots in the top right-hand corner and pick Schedule message.

Step 3: Pick your time and date for the message to send.

You will see that the send button has changed to include a small clock icon, which lets you know that it is set to send at a specific time. If you press and hold on the message, you will see a menu that lets you send it now, cancel it, or make edits to the text or scheduled time.

One way that I use scheduled texts is when someone in my family asks, "Can you remind me to call your uncle after dinner on Friday?" I just set up a scheduled text that will send around the time we'd normally be leaving dinner. This way, I don't forget, and my family member gets reminded at the appropriate time.
