I'm almost exclusively a Johnny Mathis and Bing Crosby guy when it comes to holiday music, but if your tastes are more eclectic than mine, you may enjoy Apple's holiday gift of a free, eight-song playlist.

You'll find Apple's offer in the Apple Store app -- not to be confused with the App Store -- for the iPhone (but, oddly, not in the Apple Store iPad app.) From the Holiday tab, scroll down to the Holiday Cheer menu item. Tap on it and then tap the Download button, at which point you'll get kicked over to iTunes, with a code to redeem. Redeem it and you'll download these eight songs:
"Ave Maria" by II Vollo
"Children Go Where I Send Thee" by Nick Lowe
"Duck the Halls" by The Robertsons
"Joy to the World" by Celtic Woman
"Silent Night" by Kelly Clarkson
"The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)" by Kool and the Gang
"The First Noel" by Mary J. Blige
"What Child Is This" by Marvin Sapp
Not to be outdone, Google is offering 10 free songs this month, which you can read about in the bonus deal from today's post from The Cheapskate.
