Working those odd accent marks or math symbols into your documents isn't as hard as it used to be, but it's still harder than it ought to be. Copy Paste Character is a great, free Web site that makes it incredibly simple to find, copy and paste special characters into your documents, or any other text field. Here's how to use it:
- Point your browser to Copy Paste Character
- The default set has quite a few handy symbols, but if you need something different, just click "Our favorite set" at the top to show a drop-down list of other, more focused sets.
Default set in Copy Paste Character Rob Lightner/CNET - Click any special character to copy it to your clipboard. If you want to copy a string, just hold Alt while clicking them in order.
- If the characters seem too big or small to you, the scroll bar at the bottom right will let you resize them.
That's it! This is a great resource and is the simplest way to insert these special characters that I have come across.
