You'll need to use the Woot app to get this deal, but it's worth the minor extra hassle.

The second-generation Echo Show 10 is worth grabbing at $135.

Tyler Lizenby/CNET

Amazon's third-generation Echo Show 10 is a pretty nice smart display, but it lists for $250. It's been on sale once or twice, but not for less than $200.

If you don't care about a screen that follows you around the room on a motorized base, consider snapping up the previous-gen model. Because right now you can get it for one of the lowest prices on record: Today only, and while supplies last, Woot has the Amazon Echo Show second-generation 10.1-inch smart display for $150. Original price: $230.

However, if you're a Prime subscriber and you install Woot's app, you can get it for $135. I believe it might have hit $130 on a Prime Day or Black Friday past, but it's been a long while since I've seen a deal anywhere close to this good.

Let me quickly explain the app side of the equation. As noted, you need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber. From there, install the Woot app and immediately sign into your Amazon account. Then add the Echo to your cart and start the checkout process. Note, however, that you won't see the extra $15 discount until you've selected a shipping address and payment method.

As for the Echo Show itself, read CNET's Echo Show second-gen review for some background -- keeping in mind that it dates back to 2018, and Amazon has made many an update to the Echo's operating system and capabilities.

Granted, some would argue the Echo Show 8 hits the sweet spot in terms of price and performance -- especially when it's on sale for $75, which happens from time to time -- but if you want a bigger screen for those Zoom calls, recipe videos and the like, this is a deal worth considering.
