Step aside, Google — Bing's Halloween home page is a classic horror spook-stravaganza.
If you navigate to Bing today, you're in for a big surprise... and it's no teddy bears' picnic. Microsoft's search engine has pulled out all the stops to create a spook-tacular spread for Halloween.
The Bing home page has been taken over by a spooky house on a dark and stormy night. As you mouse over, you'll find that various parts of the room can be clicked for a short, scary animation — and a link that will take you to the search page for a classic horror film.
There are six films to find in the montage, and altogether, they make up a pretty great playlist to watch tonight, especially if you're on your own. (We're not going to tell you what they are because that would spoil the fun.)
Google's offering this year is a Doodle featuring a witch at her cauldron; you can drag ingredients into the cauldron for one of six mini-games to play. The search giant has also added Easter eggs in the summary descriptions of 10 Halloween monsters when you perform a search, such as witch, ghost and Grim Reaper.
We think both are pretty fun, but for scare-factor points, we're leaning towards Bing. Which do you prefer?
