Question

Zyxel PK5001z & SE1500 Linksys 5 port switch

Dec 6, 2015 11:31PM PST

So here's what's going on and what I need help with. Currently I have a PS4 wired into the Zyxel directly and it works perfectly. My daughter now would like her laptop wired in as well. So I went and picked up the SE1500 plugged all the Ethernet cables in, plugged in the power and now both the laptop and the PS4 say they can't obtain an IP address. I've even grabbed another Linksys switch from a friend thinking this one might be bad and the same results. I've changed out cables, any ideas on where or what I should be looking at? Thanks!

I can't tell how you wired it up. Tell a little more.

Ok, currently I have the Ethernet cable from the Zyxel plugged into the Linksys. The Linksys switch shows it has a good connection (lights are all on). I have her laptop and her PS4 plugged into the switch with Ethernet cables and that shows good connection as well. Both PC and PS4 still tell me they are unable to obtain an IP address.

I've rebooted everything 3-4 times. I've even powered down each unit and powered them up one at a time starting with the Zyxel modem - Swtich - Pc - PS4
