You can check user reviews on Amazon, Buy.com and Comp USA. these are from people who are first time users to people who have tried other brands. I just bought one (Zune 80 refurbished). You can extend the warranty through Square Trade. Ipod users are usually Apple freaks. You can't always go by their recommendations, just like the Apple computers. Users love them, but PC's outsell them about 10 to 1. Must be a reason! Anyway, My Pros on the ZUNE 80: lots of storage, support and software at www.zune.net/setup, easy to set up and sync with your PC. Zune will automatically copy music or photos from any folders you designate. It has good graphics, nice screen and easy to use controls. Battery charges from USB port or AC adapter/or 12Volt. CONS: It's not an Ipod. no touch screen, no speakers, no Internet service.
Zune will comunicate wirelessly between Zune units or your PC for data transfer. We have ipods too. I found the Zune was easier to load and not as fussy about where you got the music (CDs, etc). Zune has it's own software and features an online shopping site also. There may be more Goods & Bads, but since I've only used it for a few days, I haven't come across all of them. Like I said, read the user reviews. They aren't techs, just average people.
