Zune 80Gb as a HD

Oct 13, 2007 7:53PM PDT

Just a quick question

I read that the last Zune's couldn't be used as a hard drive. Can the new 80Gb be used as a hard drive? I need to store lots of uni files while i move around the state (doing med and have to go rural) so it would be good to be able to store more uni files without having to take my laptop everywhere (~25Gb).

Cheers for your help

I don't think so

Microsoft is aiming for a market model like iPod+iTunes
so you can't do it without some serious work arounds
I'm sure some clever person will make a hack eventually but I say just look for another player

Thanks, can you suggest a good player that has a HD-like functionality (~$300)?

Thinking: Creative Zen Vision:M (60GB) - ideas?

Cheers

hard to find

The Vision 60GB is hard to find now that's it been discontinued
Also see it's the single platter one, the older two platter harddrive was bulky
There's also the 60GB Gigabeat S which I'd recommend more, but also hard to find
If you're in for a PVP, there's also the Archos 605Wifi
