Zombie Mode on iPhone 3gs

by txdotjim / October 7, 2009 7:52 PM PDT

CNet. How about a survey of iPhone users that experience the dreaded "Zombie" mode. You know, the one where your iPhone looks operational, yet can't receive or send calls or texts. This is a frustrating problem for such an expensive "phone". Maybe Cnet can get to the bottom of this since Apple and AT&T won't acknowledge there is a problem.
The forums on Apple and AT&T are full of people with this problem on the iPhone with the 3.1 update.
Knowing that they are working on a solution might keep me from taking the phone back and trading for something that works.

on my 3G also! Not cool, especially when you have no idea it's happening until you try to make a call or text someone and it keeps failing to connect even though you have full signal strength.

Anyone else experience this problem?

...in the same way that iPhone OS 3.0 was going to fix the "apps crash on startup" problem?
