I just bought the Zire 72. So far it has been nothing but a dissapointment. I did not realize that if the battery discharge, which happens very fast, you loose all the data. Having owned a low end up visor, I was expecting the battery life of this fancy PDA to be better or at least equal. My Visor has been sitting in my desk drawer for over two months and the battery still active and my data still intact. When I tried to retrieve the data from my desktop, it would not syncronize. I also have the data in a laptop, and I experienced the same problem. The hot sync icon seems to indicate data transfer, but there is no data in the PDA. Totally frustrated. Any help will be appreciated. Calling PalmOne just add to the frustration.
I have a zire 72. I upgraded the pc that I hot sync with to XP (Dell optiflex pentium 3, 533, 128MB )
The problem is that the palm can no longer hotsync with the PC. I have tried to uninstall the PalmOne software and I get error 1606 cannot access network location \Documents and Settings\Default\Send To.
I tried to set the attributes of the folder from "read only" and it still did not work. I get the same error message when I try to reinstall the software over itself.
