Zip & cabinet file removal.

Jan 15, 2005 4:31AM PST

Got the low disk space msg. After some housecleaning, I still have some zip & cabinet files. Is it advisable to just blow them away? f they've been unziped or installed why should I let them remain? Thx

Well on this machine I only have a few cab files so I let them sit.

Zip files are on a case by case basis.
If I d/l a prog that comes in zipped that's file #1.
When I unzip the prog that's file #2.
When I install the prog that's file #3.

I normally don't have any need for file #1 or 2 so they get tossed.

If you do a mass remove of all zipped files I don't think your going to like the results.

You might want to look here for some hints on cleaning.
