Zingotel

Jun 30, 2009 2:30AM PDT

Zingotel is, or was a little known voip provider. We've had internet phone service with them for several years. The service has been acceptable for the price right up until January 2009 or so. They seem to have evaporated into thin air as of May 2009. We had increasing problems with them between January and May until finally we ceased receiving service of any kind. There is no way to contact them via phone, email, or website. Does anyone have contact info for this company or any idea what has become of them?
I've found quite a few posts from disgruntled customers online. My main issue is portability of my current, "old" phone number. The phone number is allegedly disconnected according to Vonage. Vonage as my new service provider cannot transfer my old number for this reason. I thought that we have portability laws to help protect our important phone numbers. If Zingotel no longer exists; why can't I keep my old number?
Thanks,
Sasha
