Hello,
This is an issue where an Office document is used to affect the computer that is it opened on. The attacker is able to gain the same rights as the user that opened it. So, yes, this is something everyone should be aware of. The following link is a fix for the issue, but does not work on Windows 8 and 8.1 64-bit versions with 64-bit versions of PowerPoint. https://support.microsoft.com/kb/3010060
I have a question about this: "On Tuesday, Microsoft issued an advisory warning of a new Zero-Day vulnerability that impacts all supported versions of their Windows operating system except, Windows Server 2003. The advisory says that attackers are using PowerPoint files.".
Since I don't have PowerPoint on my computer do I need to be concerned about this vulnerabiltiy?
