Zen Nano Plus trouble

Aug 3, 2007 11:41AM PDT

Downloading an mp3 file to the player caused the "Delayed Write Failed" message. It also disabled the USB connection. I guess the computer is waiting for the file to be completed. The problem is in the player, as other computers I used for tests respond the same.
The Nano cannot be reset/formatted without the computer, so it is "up the creek without a paddle". Perhaps it is possible to disable/erase the write cache - or whatever, in the computer. Unlock it. Otherwise my player is toast. The player cannot be repaired and the Creative Labs abusive warranty - one year- lets you exchange the defective unit for a $25 labor charge. Pretty shabby IMHO.
Hope to see some good ideas. Thanks - Ludwig
