Youtube video sometimes plays with sound but no video

by taurusalmighty / August 18, 2014 4:47 PM PDT

I have a Samsung UA40F6400 smart tv, and sometimes while watching youtube videos, the image disappears (goes blank) between videos, ie after watching one to the end and then selecting a new one to watch. When this happens, only the sound track can be heard while the screen is blank. if one goes back to the previous video, one see the video thumbnails, but regardless of the video chosen, it is blank and only the sound track can be heard.

The only way to get usual playback is by switching the tv off and on again, and things are back to normal until the next time.

Any ideas?

Always call such bugs in.

Otherwise they don't know about the bug and won't update the firmware.

However the YouTube video player is not from Samsung but that other big company. We've had some discussions about how wonky that app is.
