Youtube Downloader Virus's

I downloaded DVDVideoSoft, a trusted download from Cnet, no problems for very long then a update slipped in Open Candy & more adware. Cnet, Youtube Dowloader HD also had adware. I also aquired Total 360 Security Anti Virus-Witch is bag of adwire with pop ups, this I think came out of youtube adds. Some think its ok to change home pages & allow pop ups, I dont. Cnet needs to be more vigilant.
