Question

YouTube channel not loading on Samsung Smart TV

Sep 18, 2015 11:18AM PDT

After buying one, then another (exchanged it) Samsung tech says YouTube app is broken on their server. For a week? Anyone know of this? Seriously thinking of exchanging TV for a Sony.

Answer
The YouTube app is from Google.

So when it breaks, there is little Sony or Samsung can do about it. If a Samsung tech said so, well then maybe this is your reason for exchange or return.

You bring up a great issue. When I buy a car by Ford, I don't worry that the radio in the car stops because Google withdrew an app. It's Ford's to fix. Today we have makers shipping TVs with bits and pieces they can't fix.

Another example is the ROVI guide. A lawsuit was lost and blammo, Sony, Samsung and others have lost that app. It's a mess here.

I apologize, if it's only one channel that's not loading, this should be an issue with the devloper, not the application. If it were an issue with the app itself, you would expierence symptoms with multiple channels not just one.

I would recommend contacting YouTube in regards to this.
