Professional sites do usability tests, measuring how long it takes a person (unknown to the site) to accomplish a given task while tracking their eye movements to see what part of the pages they are looking at. And then they discuss the experiences with them.
That's much better (although more expensive) then just asking in a forum.

Hello,
Your main goal in you website is to find your products/service right away so you need to emphasize it. I suggest to place it on the center and resize the images that will be clearly see by your visitors.
