Your invitation to the celebration

Apr 8, 2006 4:25AM PDT

of the date on which Jesus Christ died. We warmly invite you to join us in observing the Memorial of Jesus' death. This year the date for the observance is Wednesday, April 12, after local sundown. You may attend at the Kingdom Hall nearest to your home. Please check there for the exact time and place.
Why is this the most important date in history? First, Jesus' faithfulness until death proved that a human could maintain integrity to God. Job 1; 2
It also provided an opportunity for some from mankind to become corulers with him in heaven. Luke 12:32; Daniel 7:14,27
Moreover, it opened the way for many more to enjoy everlasting life in an earthly paradise. John 10:16, Psalm 37:29
Finally, it's a command from Jesus to ''keep doing this,'' to all who would call him their leader. Luke 22:19

Please bring your bibles, as a brief talk will give scriptural backing for these and other important topics.
No collection is ever taken at our meetings.

some of you could learn about persecution before it comes your way. (Our position is that it certainly will, because the bible prophesies it, certainly not because of martyr complex or wishful thinking on our part.) See Ezekiel ch. 33 as to the duties we believe Jehovah has given us in these last days. You're welcome.

I pointed you all to the readers' comments at

which I believe are more revealing in this context than the news stories.

Evie certainly won't find God at the Watchtower, for they

reject His only Son. Indeed, it would be better not to look at all than to look there IMO. However, what makes you think that Evie hasn't looked into the Bible simply because she says she's not a scholar on the subject?

Perhaps you should look much more deeply yourself DR. There are many passages which disprove the teachings of the Watchtower to which you have yet to respond.

Since yours in on Wednesday you can

come here Thursday and volunteer to take part in the traditional vigil. It's done in shifts and one requirement is to remain awake. A great many of our "traditional" catholics are getting up in years and find this to be difficult. You'd be surprized how much snoring is amplified by the walls of a nearly empty church. Happy

Its not the walls of the church, it is the steeple, which is the antenna for sending messages to God. There is sometimes a bit of leakage... Wink

Sorry; Thursday is two of our regular

meetings. First is training in the preaching work commanded by the Lord Jesus (Mt 28:19,20). Also, I'll be giving a short talk on 'Guarding Against the Desires of the Flesh.' Second is general information on organization of the preaching work (Mt 24:13). Good part scheduled is 15 min. on "How to Maintain Zeal." Theme taken from Rom 12:11. One important key focused on is keeping up on personal study of the bible to 'fuel our zeal.' Luke 24:27,32 cited; also Rom 10:17 - very important.
Final exhortation is to improve our study of the weekly Watchtower articles. "But do we look up the cited scriptures and reflect on how the material applies in our life?" (Don't want the unbelievers to call us merely 'Watchtower worshippers!') Happy
Sorry you can't make it.

BTW the Memorial we attended
May 10, 2006 11:49AM PDT

was a nice one; two congregations in a hotel conference room. We had my son out of the hospital for it, in his wheelchair. We thought of having him get up and walk at a critical moment, which he could do by then, but thought better of it. Happy Probably why I'm here to tell you about it.
