Your fired

Sep 23, 2017 10:36AM PDT

Check the NFL.
If you don't honor the flag 'your fired'.
This from the guy that did not think enough of the flag to serve.
Do as I say not as I do.

I wouldn't even suggest that option

because it will only be looked upon as another 'social injustice' win for the far left activists and cause even more destruction of this country because the radical right would take it upon themselves to become rioters and use it as an excuse to do so.

The only thing that will stop this insanity is for all of these 'private' enterprises to be hit soundly in their investors' pockets. No more season tickets being sold costing thousands of dollars and taxes added via the States to build new stadiums for overpriced, ungrateful snowflake adults. I don't care what the sport is.........take your personal agenda outside of the playing field to protest...Professional athletes have, for years, protested government decisions, including Ali. He refused the draft, was banned from boxing here in the States (was reinstated a few years later) but his personal protest did not take away from his love of boxing or country and he never disrespected that country or the flag. His popularity stayed with him right up until the end, and people never lost respect for HIM either. He dealt with the issues he disagreed with with grace and dignity........a lesson all of these 'babies' on the field should learn as well.

to avoid having to have a REAL response? CONSUMERS (the buyers of tickets and who buy products that are advertised) will retaliate, JP......it's already begun.

Sep 25, 2017 2:50PM PDT

Sorry, All I saw YOU mention in the post I responded to were "investors"..NO mention of consumers...

I guess someone(YOU) didn't realize what YOU were saying.

I guess if there are no consumers...the investors don't mind investing in something that no one wants.

Do YOU play the market?...I hope not.

The NFL has stockholders they have to answer to
Sep 25, 2017 4:11PM PDT

Another term for stockholders is 'investors', JP....I'm sorry you don't understand that. The result will be the same......no consumers for your product means failure to those stockholders. How long do you think they will allow that to happen?

Another term for stockholders is 'investors', JP....I'm sorry you don't understand that.

I hope you don't feel my pain....

Another term for investor ISN'T consumer, I'm sorry you don't understand that.

I'm not saying a consumer can't be an investor, or an investor can't be a consumer...just that they aren't synonymous.

I consume Campbells soup but I'm not an investor in Campbells.

The only thing that will stop this insanity is for all of these 'private' enterprises to be hit soundly in their investors' pockets

So, what do you think about TheRUMP lowering taxes on the income of those evil 'investors"? Or are you trying not to think about it?

- Collapse -
I think you are again uninformed, JP....
Sep 28, 2017 10:57AM PDT

There isn't anything in this tax bill that lowers the tax rate for INDIVIDUAL RICH people....which is what an NFL investor normally is. I have no problem with the tax bill that's being presented, but of course, liberals are going to be out there trying to scare the bejeezus out of their constituents by saying exactly what you just did.

You stated:

"So, what do you think about TheRUMP lowering taxes on the income of those evil 'investors"? Or are you trying not to think about it?"

First of all, what is EVIL about investors? And do you believe that all investors are not individuals or do you believe instead that they are all corporations? IF they are individuals, they aren't getting a tax cut/break as you suggested.

As for deferring the capital gains liabilities in order to avoid or put off paying the taxes, the taxes eventually come due and are paid, no matter how long they put off the sale. What an asinine statement by that 'tax expert'. If they defer the sale from December to January in order to delay the tax from one year to the next, that's a BUSINESS decision that only kicks the can down the road but it DOES get paid.

The expert also doesn't bother to mention that the top 10% of the population pays over 70% of the total taxes for the entire country.....even IF they defer the sale of something, JP.

How many of that top 10% do you think are in the 1% or 0.1% bracket?  Even IF they are responsible for $120B that they 'save' and don't have to pay, that amount barely covers the total waste and fraud that gets spent willy-nilly without a backward glance by the government.  Boo-hoo that they get to keep their own money, for God's sake.

Liberals have always had a hard time comprehending the fact that that money isn't THEIRS, JP......it belongs to whoever actually MADE that money.

YOU tell me.

I'll quote YOUR words....The only thing that will stop this insanity is for all of these 'private' enterprises to be hit soundly in their investors' pockets.

To me, it sounds like YOU THINK the investors are aiding and abetting...in this kneeling display....So that means YOU think the investors are "evil".

- Collapse -
I don't think they are evil, JP
Sep 29, 2017 7:58AM PDT

YOU said they were. I said that once the investors realized they were taking a wallet hit, they would be the ones putting pressure on the Commissioner and the owners to stop their nonsense and get back to the actual BUSINESS they represent rather than politics. "aiding and abetting"???? Seriously????

but THEY should "be hit soundly in their pockets'...financially?....That's what you mean by "in their pockets" isn't it?...$$$$

Not EVIL...but they should pay? WHY?

RE:get back to the actual BUSINESS they represent, rather than politics.

Tell TheRUMP...Get back to the politics HE is SUPPOSED to represent rather than business.

RE: "aiding and abetting"???? Seriously????

According to you...YES....IF they ain't against it...they're "aiding and abetting"....

Kneeling?...yet ONE more distraction for TheRUMP....He can rattle so many sets of keys at a time....

You keep trying to put words

that I've not said into my mouth instead of admitting that they are liberal spin on what YOU THINK I'VE SAID. Stop rewriting history, JP.

The Government IS a BUSINESS, you dimwit.....and should be run as such.

As for the investors....THEIR INVESTMENT IS A BUSINESS DECISION. And as such, in order to continue to MAKE money, they need to realize that unless they intercede and pull the Commission and coaches, and owners back into line, the CUSTOMERS that spend THEIR money to keep PAYING those who are now giving those customers the finger will continue to HURT the wallets of those investors. That doesn't make them EVIL, JP....it makes them SMART in knowing which side their bread is buttered on and it's NOT on the side that the Commission, coaches, and owners making BAD BUSINESS DECISION by being so over the top PC correct.

You don't bite the hand that feeds you, JP......not if you're smart at least.

But, if the "radical right" has a hissy over it, let it be so. Thus far they've been more well behaved than has the other side and I would not expect them to be smashing the windows of business establishments and overturning automobiles in the streets. We're talking about sports venues here which, unfortunately, are becoming show places for anything that resembles old fashioned sportsmanship. Huge angry men pummeling one another and ending up in jail for rape and other crimes of violence isn't much to be proud of. Until the sports clean themselves up, I could be convinced that flag raising ceremonies at these events is more a slap in the face than a display of national honor. The world has turned upside down.

Winning, at any cost
Sep 28, 2017 8:14AM PDT

Is more important in today's professional sports than old fashioned "sportsmanship" of a recently bygone era. Until owners and coaches are both devoted to bringing back morality, decency, respectfulness into the various sports arenas, then I predict it will continue to lose fans. I prefer viewing a good college or local high school game of football more than pro football today. One thing about going to local high school games is you know they are all local, and playing mostly for the fun of it.
