General discussion

Your expertise please. Buying quality headphones to go with

Nov 25, 2005 2:34AM PST

Hi!

I would like to buy some good quality headphones
to go with a small sound unit(boom box or small
shelf unit). Will the boom box or shelf unit give
me the good quality sound I want if I am using
a quality set of headphones? Could I even get by
with a small portable cd player to produce a full
sound if my headphones are of high quality?

Thanks for responding,

P.S. I realize this post reads similiar to other
posts I've made, but I think I'm finally zeroing
in on a decision.

Ahh, it is a slightly different question.

The problem I see here is that for years some audiophiles have panned audiocd as not being true to the original recordings. Yes, SACD * http://www.superaudio-cd.com/ may answer these shortcomings, but audio being what it is, you may have to test out your combo to see if it makes you happy.
