Your advice on Monster Cables vs Audoiquest cables

Aug 15, 2005 1:44AM PDT

Hi All,
I'm a novice when it comes to electronic devices. But I reason that in terms of price/cost between these two high-end cables the Audioquest must be better? Otherwise the costs wouldn't be much difference!!??. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I've bought a Pioneer PRO-1410HD and a Pioneer DV-59AVI and a high-end Samsung HD Tuner. I'm not sure which of these two technologies I should use.
Please educate me of the choice.
Thanks a lot for your advice.
Regards,
J.N

Cable quality

Go with cheaper cables. Most folks can't tell the difference between 'professional' cable and even cheap OEM cables provided with most equipment. With Monster, etc, you're paying for the name. Save your $$$ on cabling and put it towards something you'll actually be able to enjoy. Just make sure whatever cabling you buy is properly sheilded and has gold plated connectors.

I agree ...

Since HDMI is all digital (I'm assuming that is the connection you're using) you aren't likely to see/hear any difference with more expensive cables. People who buy expensive cables do so to prevent signal loss. This may apply for analog signals, but I don't buy it for digital connections. With digital, you either get the signal or you don't.

However, having really cool looking cables will add to the perceived high-end-ness of your setup (but will subtract money from your wallet.)

You're right!

Now this makes sense b/c digital is digital. If the packet doesn't deliver in full then the receiving end won't be able to decode the packet..
Thank guys for your advice.

Monster Cables vs Audoiquest

Go to Radio Shack and buy the house brand or go to Home Depot and but the RCA brand they will do the job.
The law of diminishing returns applies here.
If a $25 cable set is good a $100 set WILL NOT BE 4 times better. John
