Temporary lock

Sorry but I am locking this for the time being.

I am unsure how this fits in with both Forum Policy and Privacy Policy.

I have referred the questions to the Forum Admin for advice.

Answer
Sorry.

CNET and its parent company CBS Interactive take privacy seriously and Trust is at the forefront of their Privacy Policy. CNET and CBSI are committed to gaining and maintaining their members' trust by following five key principles: transparency, choice, access, security and accountability.

While members choose what information they disclose when they join, (in their profile), nevertheless in these forums members are advised.not to disclose personal information in posts where such information is on public display. It goes without saying that soliciting for personal information, however minor it might seem, is also against the principle of the Privacy Policy.

I'm sorry but the information you have requested in your post exceeds what is allowable and so this discussion must remain locked.

Answer
Received your email

I have received your email.

In it you asked;

"Would it be good if I ask people to email me their responses, rather than listing on the forums? That way their Privacy will be kept closed.

Thanks,"

In short the answer is no, for the same reasons.

If anyone emails you, you then have their email address. That is private information.

Whilst it could be argued that it was the person's choice to email you, nevertheless the solicitation for their private and confidential information was derived through these forums.

Sorry, but you must find some other way, not via these forums, to get the information you require.

Mark
