Are you sure the version of Windows is Legit ?
I tried removing various updates that have been suggested and when none of them worked I decided I had nothing to lose by stopping any more windows updates, as this is what caused the problem in the first place. Then I decided to uninstall every update one by one to see which one caused the problem. I did this 244 times and I was left with 6 that either could not be uninstalled or could only be partly uninstalled. They are KB2884256, KB 3020370, KB 3020369, KB233552, KB976002, KB3127233 and KB976902. So one or more are the problem. Time to give up on that one. The only reason that I did not want Windows 10 is that I have to use a password and all the suggestions on how not to do not work on my version. It is very irritating when you have a person on the telephone and you are trying to open the calendar to make an appointment and you have to wait for Windows to start up,
