Question

YMTRACKING and Unwanted Games Installation on Cell Phone

Sep 13, 2016 2:55PM PDT

Every time I want to open a web page, it opens up YMTracking and I have to close and re-open the web page again. It also installs games on it's own. I have installed McAfee and Lookout but none of these puts a stop to it. Help!!!

Clarification Request
While I could research this.

I think you should add your phone's make, model and version OS.

Also, since removal of some malware is deep now I have skipped scanning and uninstalling to just doing factory resets. Also, some malware is so deep we call it a rootkit. If I encounter a rootkit I have the phone "re-flashed."

This is mostly and so far in my experience only happening to folk that install apps from other than the Apple and Google app stores.

Tell more.

I had the same phone before and never had this problem. The only game I installed is Words with Friends. It is an Android. Thanks for responding by the way.

And where did you get your app?

If you downloaded an APK these are usually infected today. It's a sad statement of the industry.

As to the company, that's the name on the product. There are companies that sell such and infect the phone or load it up with malware. Try a full factory reset.
