YH925 - major USB issue

by goodnooze / April 1, 2007 7:56 PM PDT

To start...I have fixed a half dozen of these players so I thought I knew how to get past most problems. But this is new to me.

I have one that works perfectly fine as a player. But when you plug it into the USB port of ANY computer (and ive tried 3), the bootloader screen comes on, and then the first frame of the blue annimation (frozen for about a second). The unit then shuts off, comes back on, and does the same thing. This cycle continues as long as it is plugged into the usb port, but as soon as I unplug it, it goes back to being a fully functioning player.

Because the computer is never able to see the player, i am unable to do anything with the recovery utility. I have tried booting into recovery mode by holding down FF while the unit is off, and then pluging in the USB cable, but that does nothing.

I would be thrilled if someone had a solution for this. Thanks ahead of time.
