yamaha YAS-101 soundbar, and dolby 5.1..

can this work? i have netflix streaming 5.1 audio, thru a roku box, 5.1 also. thru hdmi to a new samsung tv...5.1 optical out to the yamaha soundbar.

no sound. is the yamaha only able to take a stereo input? or am i missing something obvious...

Try simple.

Set the audio out to PCM or stereo. It makes little sense to send 5.1 to a bar with 2 speakers.
