Yamaha RX-V377 no sound from optical from TV

Hi, Bought a Yamaha Rx-V377 connected to my tv with both HDMI and optical cable. But, I can't hear tv sound through speakers connected to the receiver. What am I missing. Please help

Thank you for your response. But, I got that fixed. One of the problems is my optical cable was bad. After I fixed that (it slightly cut in the middle. Put cello tape for now)... I tried the AV1 - AV5 and AV4 got me the Sound.
