Yamaha HTR-6130 Configuration Problems

by BearsThirtyFour / October 8, 2009 9:23 AM PDT

I recently found out through some research (because it is conveniently not well marked in the manual or on the packaging when purchased) that this receiver does not send audio through the HDMI ports.
Can anyone out there assist me now so I can get the best expereince out of my home theater system, short of throwing the the receiver out the window.
My system is as follows:
TV-Sony SXRD KDS-R50XBR1
Receiver-Yamaha HTR-6130
Cable Signal- DirecTV DVR
Blue Ray Player- Panasonic DMP-BD60
Game Consoles- XBOX 360 (with HDMI connections)
Nintendo Wii (regular component cables at this time;but would like to get it set up for the best A/V also)

Yamaha states something about setting up the audio signal to go through the TV and then into the receiver but nothing I do works, I still need an audio cable to the receiver. (side note: Optical Out on SXRD does not seem to work; any thoughts on this)

Meet the drop-resistant Moto Z2 Force

The Moto Z2 Force is really thin, with a fast processor and great battery life. It can survive drops without shattering.
