Yahoo msg dilemma

A friend bought "gently used" pc. She tried loading Yahoo msg. and was told she couldn't because of former owner having yahoo, too. It initially installed ok but will not load. A msg containinginfo re: this problem refers to problem with acct. of former owner(?) or regarding she is showm to still have her msg. on her prior computer. She ha WindowsME and 252(?) ram. TY Ruth

Was this computer formatted

and everything reinstalled? If not, that is what I would do. I wouldn't want to have someone else's information on a computer I'm using.
