Yahoo Mail Notifier Virus detected Avast

by PudgyOne / June 22, 2008 8:34 AM PDT

I don't know if you came across this yet. I just recently noticed, while using Firefox 2.0.0.14 and the Yahoo Mail Notifier 1.0.0.6, that my virus protection would go off. I told it to abort connection. I saw it was a yahoo link, so I disabled the Yahoo Mail Notifier and the virus scanners doesn't find it anymore. It may or may NOT be a False positive, but just to be sure, I removed this from my add-ins. Just wanted to make everyone aware of this.

I didn't have to go to Yahoo's website. Every time the Yahoo Mail Notifier would check for mail, it would go off. I then read your link and every time I tried to log off, it would also go off, WOW! Just going to Yahoo's main page, it goes off, what a PITA.

Thanks for the information, it was very informative.

Did you break anything, lately?

(There's a club meeting at the end of the month, BTW. Your attendance is required, unless it's repaired prior to that date.)

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
