Yahoo mail error message using Outlook 2003 (error 0x800CCC0

Since yesterday when clicking send/receive on Outlook (version 2003) I've been getting the above error and a message saying "the connection to the server was interrupted). Mail is not being sent although receiving appears ok - although all the usual SPAM has mysteriously stopped!.

I can see no changes in my email account settings and this has worked fine for two years or more.

Can anyone suggest a solution here?
