Resolved Question

Yahoo has hijacked Internet explorer

Aug 10, 2014 2:09PM PDT

I have a HP Pavilion desktop 62 Bit computer with windows 7. Yahoo has took over IE, I did not put it there (don't even like yahoo) I have tried everything to get it off and nothing works it keeps coming back. Have went into tools several times to change it from there and that was a waist of time. Ran a security scan, it was clean. ran malwarebytes it was also clean, the darn thing just keeps coming back. Even went into my C programs and it's not there. I don't know what to do to get yahoo off my computer. I don't what else I can do to get rid of it. Please help me!!

- Where did it put itself?
- What is "everything" you tried (the full list please)?
- Wnat exactly did you change in tools (the things that aren't included in "everything" suffice)?
- What exactly is "that damned thing"?

If you run Firefox or Chrome (good free other browsers) are they taken over also?

I know these are time wasters but after it is scanned with the usual armada noted by Grif at http://forums.cnet.com/7726-6122_102-5509131.html?tag=posts;msg5509131 we proceed to reset the browser and set it up the way we want.

If that fails I'm pulling out the big guns. That is, I'm using AUTORUNS, HIJACKTHIS, not to delete what is found with these but to learn all that is going on here.
