Yahoo games & Java

I had a new hard drive installed & have been having trouble with Yahoo games. I used WinXP professional edition. I was not having any difficulty before. I have installed Java (Sun) & I can play the games but my computer keeps freezing. Also the fonts are so small you can hardly read them. Have to do Alt,Ctrl,Del to get out & back to desktop.

I have uninstalled Java and downloaded it 2 or 3 times. I have gone to their web site to try & get solutions with no success.

Can anyone give me a solution.
