Yahoo and Mozilla/Firefox E-Mail

Jul 10, 2004 5:12AM PDT

This is an e-mail I just recieved from Yahoo, and I wrote them a nasty e-mail back.
Hello Larry,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Mail.

We recommend that you upgrade your current web browser, or switch to a
different one. Upgrading to a newer version of your browser will offer
you greatly increased functionality and stability. The two most
popular
web browsers are Netscape and Internet Explorer. Both are available as
free downloads on the Web.

In order to have the best experience in Yahoo! Mail, you will need a
JavaScript enabled browser. Depending on the operating system (OS) and
browser version you're currently using, you may be able to upgrade to a
newer browser version with JavaScript. Yahoo! Mail is not compatible
with MSNTV (WebTV).

The two most popular JavaScript Enabled web browsers are Netscape and
Internet Explorer. Both are available as free downloads on the Web.

The Netscape browser can be found at:

http://home.netscape.com/download/

The Internet Explorer browser can be found at:

But Larry they were just replying to your letter! Grin lol

Off topic but I think you are using or at least experimenting with Foxfire. Does it meet your expectations and any problems so far? I am trying Mozilla 1.7.1 and so far so good but wonder if Foxfire would do me as well without all the baggage since I do not need the mail client.

Just thought you might like to comment about experience. Have a nice day and stay cool! Cool

Yep, some reply. LOL
Iam useing FF 0.9.2 and have not had any problems at all. It's very small and easy to use, I have it as a standard Browser with no plugins or extensions and even do my banking on it. My only problem is not being able to use some of the features of Yahoo Mail Plus and I have two Premium accounts (myself and my wife) also use Yahoo as my default homepage. My wife likes to use the stationery and smiley faces when she writes to the Children and Grandchildren that means going to IE to write a letter. I better get off my soap box before I get really mad. I'll try to stay cool but it's hot here in SC.

Thanks! I will try it and maybe discard Mozilla for a trimmer and more sleek browser... keeping IE updated for use with Windows Update.

Yep, I know about the hot weather in SC. Some years ago I spent several hot summers at Ft. Jackson.

Call me clueless.

I have followed your posts, but for some odd reason I was using Yahoo email without any ado. But I only was sending ascii with attachments.

Now I read this post and have something to try this week.

Bob

PS. It's one of the 10 best days in Boston. Of course I think that all ends when the DNC starts.

Bob do you ever go over to Mozillavine? If I should get a reply from Yahoo I will post it. It took me a week to get the above reply.
