General discussion

Ya know, the bold blue text for each post has already got my

attention. I HATE IT WHEN YOU SCREAM AT ME BY MAKING THE WHOLE THING IN CAPITALS AS WELL. Get some courtesy and respect back into your life by treating others as if they can read too.

Not so bad that you should get your blood pressure in an uproar. Besides all those posts are on page 2 and I think maybe there are two like that. I think of all caps as an attention grabber, not screaming

...OWNS these forums? Let me give you a hint...it ain't you. If what you're complaining about was so grievous in the owners' opinion, the owners would have deleted it. What posts appear here and remain here are strictly a management decision...and in my opinion, not even subject to an objective discussion...like the complainer has no standing in such a discussion.

Sorry I failed to post in support, C1ay. I'm with you now.

I suspect it may be laziness when cutting and pasting, or maybe its just that they want to scream at somebody and we're the easiest and least threatening target.

Like I said, laziness when cutting and pasting.

It'd take so much effort to type the header in a manner courteous to your readers. You don't need to leave the screaming Headline Typeface in place.

Now that you mention it and it does seem a lot easier to read when all caps. I'm not blind, but not exactly 20/20 either, with the stuff I'm on. I think it should be a posters choice. Some of us have not so good eyesight. Some of us may even be hard of hearing. So you got to talk a little louder.

Oh! And Halliburton. Just had to throw that in. It's not relevant, but it almost never is Devil

I find some other things people do here even more annoying.

One example ...

... on the use of titles or full names. Even using just the first name is sometimes OK, but not in the way, for example, that Cindy Sheehan refers to the President as "George". It's the deliberate lowercase spelling of our President's last name and the plays on the VP's first name that are most disrespectful.

Not really a big deal...
Apr 29, 2006 12:16AM PDT

...but if it's something that honestly bothers you or makes reading a subject title/post difficult, there are likely nice ways to ask the specific person to try something different.

I recall several times where such has been done. Most folks will honor a request made in a way that offers respect and courtesy from both sides. Obviously this won't always happen, but asking nicely at least allows for your own courtesy to be apparent.
