General discussion

xvYCC

Jan 23, 2009 1:01AM PST

Hello,

The xvYCC setting on my LN46A650 will not stay on. When you turn it on it works fine but when you turn the T.V off and back on the setting gets disabled (even though it says its on), you need to change the setting to off and then back on again to get it to work. Any ideas, maybe new fireware update needed to fix it. I am currently on v2007.

Thanks

Dynamic also?

When you turn your television off and on, does it also revert back to Dynamic Picture settings every time?

No, I am not using dynamic mode. I am using movie mode but I imagine this would be the same for all settings. When the power goes off and on the setting still says its on but its not. You need to select off and then on again to get it to work.

Connected Device

ln46a6502008,

It may be that the connected device doesn't support xvYCC, and therefore the televison disables it since there is no reason for it to be on.

Do you know if your device supports xvYCC?

I have tried both a BD-P1500 and PS3. The BD-P1500 im not 100% sure if it does or not, but the PS3 does, and it still does the same thing. There are other people that are reporting this on AVS forums as well which is why wanted to bring some attention to this as it may be fireware related. I thought this would be the best place to start Happy.

I'll check it out...

Well, you're in the right place - I'll check it out a little this week and see what I can find as far as other people having the issue.

Just so we're covering bases here, the feature IS enabled on the PS3 and the issue is still happening, correct?
