Question

XPS 2710 expansion connectors

Sep 4, 2015 5:14AM PDT

My XPS 2710 has 2 connectors that appear to be PCIe. My understanding is one of them is "reserved" for a TV tuner card. Since I will not be installing a TV tuner, I would prefer to use the connection to install a HyperX Predator SSD card. Does anyone know if this will work?

I would like to go with a PCIe SSD drive, if possible, because it will have a significantly faster data transfer rate. I was hoping someone has had experience using these connectors for something other than the TV tuner before I make the investment.

It may not boot from miniPCIe or PCIe. You may want to ask Dell directly but for booting, mSATA has been my choice.

Sorry no, I have yet to see this model so I can't write more than what I have so far. If this was mine I'd go mSATA as later I could recycle that into some USB case or a laptop.
