xp with Nvidia RIVA TNT2 m64

Aug 22, 2004 12:24PM PDT

same as the subject, i have xp with Nvidia RIVA TNT2 m64. this old AGP video card is having some small problems with xp, for example, when i click Shut Down from Start menu, the desktop goes grey but it is like stripes of grey desktops covering each other, leaving the top shown only. when i click CANCEL, it returns to normal.

I suspect this as a driver problem. the newest driver from Nvidia is not supported by xp (displays compatibility error). what should i do? what version of driver should i install?

I have installed the newest Nvidia driver on a couple of dozen systems running XP, and they have had a wide range of Nvidia video cards. Never seen a problem.

Seen a lot of those work. Seen a few fail too. But if the card is good, it works.
