No announcement

I think win2k might be officially on the orphan list, however. As I recall, Win98 got a reprieve from the gallows after it was first condemned so I wouldn't worry soon. It won't be the home user market that dictates this but it's adoption by business. Business IT folks take their sweet time and MS isn't going to be impatient with those customers.

I want to think

I want to think sometime in 2014, but it's already on life support with critical security updates only, and support will be gradually tapering off as time goes by.

There's already a flaw in the TCP/IP stack that Microsoft has announced they will not be fixing in XP. Expect more to follow as time wears on. You'd be well advised to move to Vista/7 or Linux if still using XP.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
