XP Update Problem

by e. / February 23, 2005 3:04 PM PST

Numberous times I've tried to download XP Home .Net Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 to no avail. When it fails there is no message regarding what went wrong or how to fix it. BTW, when the download is ready to install it says the size is 0.0 kb. Any ideas?

Also, I need to download an XP patch. I'm asked if I'm using the Windows 32 or 64 bit edition. How do I find out which one I need? Thanks for your help.

Do you really need .Net Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 ? If you?re not a developer, you can skip it.

For the second, you open the System Properties and read the text there. For details, read:

Thanks Cetin. No I'm not a developer, XP just gave me that option as an important update (at least I thought it did).

For some reason, I couldn't find the info in System Properties.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
