is there a problem with XP that can be fixed. many (not all) are pleased with the upgrade. if it is a minor problem that can be addressed, why not explore it here?

valerie,

To uninstall an upgrade has as many pit falls
as the install or more.

three items:
1. was xp install an upgrade?
2. was Win98 backed up?
3. are your files in NTFS file system?

->From my understanding if your files have been saved in the NTFS file system reverting back to Win98 is not possible.
->If Win 98 was not backed up on upgrade, reverting back to that O/S is not possible
->If XP was a clean install then you will have to back-up your data, format the drive, install 98, M/B drivers, device drivers, applications and security up-dates.

Forgot something, XP registers itself to your computer hardware. This is done to prevent O/S install on another system. You may be better off to repair or adapt to XP.
